Thank you, Linda for reading! I know life can highjack our best intentions, and so much really is out of our control, but we can always come back to a grounding moment, reconnecting with a softer heart in the presence of the One who breathes life into every moment.
I believe that retirement has given me the time for such for such life-giving pauses and a beautiful family to populate them.
Obviously, I need more pauses such as what Donna recommends. Times when God can both comfort me in the present and lead me beside still waters in the future.
Thanks for your guidance in this important phase of my life.
Amen, David, I love your attitude. And thank you for your kind words! It's never too late to learn brief pauses with the God who is always with us. He speaks to us through the events of our days, people, things, and even all creation, may we have ears, eyes, and hearts to perceive Him, taking a moment to simply "be"!
“Rather January offers a time of rest, reflection, and refinement under God’s infallible guidance.”
Donna,
I am a recovering workaholic who has long held God at arm’s length and has virtually programmed people out of his life. Thank God for people like you who urge me toward a sanity that only He can provide.
David, I hear you and see you. I am a recovering workaholic, "performaholic", myself. I am learning God delights in our presence much more than our performance, projects, or sanctified activity!
I appreciate you reading my post and your kind words, may God continue speaking to you!
'I am choosing a soft launch to the year.'
My launch into the year was frenetic, challenging, sorrowful, exhausting.
But I can choose a soft, tender heart in the midst of it. And that's how I'm aiming to live out '26.
Thanks for the lovely inspiration, Donna.
